How Lights interacts with the Body

Red and near-infrared wavelengths penetrate the skin at different depths and are absorbed by mitochondria, often referred to as the “energy centers” of cells. This interaction is associated with increased cellular energy (ATP), which plays a role in processes like recovery, circulation, and skin renewal.

Why Wavelengths Matter

Not all light is the same. Different wavelengths reach different layers of the body and interact with tissues in unique ways.

  • Red Light (≈630-660nm) → supports surface-level skin processes
  • Near-Infrared (≈810nm-830nm-850nm) → reaches deeper layers, associated with muscle and joint recovery. Using a combination of wavelengths allows for a more complete, layered experience.
  • Near-Infrared (1060nm) → reaches even further, expanding in depth and coverage of experience.

This multi-wavelength approach is whats sets more advanced light systems apart.

Consistency Over Intensity

Light works gradually, not instantly. Research suggests that repeated exposure over time is key to supporting cellular processes and seeing noticeable benefits. This is why many people incorporate it into their weekly routine, similar to movement, skincare, or recovery practices.

Areas of Support

  • Cellular Energy - Supports mitochondrial activity and natural energy production
  • Muscle Recovery - Commonly used to support recovery after physical activity
  • Skin Health - Associated with collagen support and overall skin appearance
  • Inflammation Response - Supports the body's natural response to physical stress, often associated with recovery and overall balance
  • Circulation - Supports healthy blood flow and oxygen delivery

Safety & Considerations

Red and near-infrared light have been widely studied and are generally considered safe when used appropriately.

Protective eyewear is not necessary but recommended during sessions.
